The idea of launching a journal from so new a college and so small a department was just a straw in the wind. When the idea was in the embryo our Good Angels descended to deliver a timely ‘commandment’: “Don’t fly too high”.  Thus admonished and aided we undertook our ‘middle flight’. Indeed we neither had enough fund nor acumen. The first impetus was given by the Governing Body of the concerned college. The Governing Body in one of its meeting resolved to bear the expenses of the journal publication – a decision that helped remove the begging bowl from the hands of the editors. The approving nods from Professor Bill Ashcroft, Professor Krishna Sen , Professor Jawaharlal Handoo, Professor Parbati Charan Chakraborty, Professor B. Parvati , Professor Mahadev  Kunderi, Professor T. D. Purkayastha , Professor S. P. Singha and other eminent academicians helped the fledgling bird to fly . Pritha Kundu, the co-editor, joined afterwards at a time of crying need when a considerable numbers of papers began to stream in. We have been launching Middle Flight  regularly since 2012 without any year lag. Five print volumes have been duly published and a total number of 150 fairly reviewed unpublished research papers  grace the pages of the different volumes of Middle Flight. Among those as many as 30 papers have been written by the university teachers and the rest by either college teachers or by research scholars.   To honour the recommendation of the reviewers has been one of our abiding editorial policies. We accept neither processing fee nor any fee whatsoever from the contributors simply because we have no profit making policy. We strictly abide by publication ethics and all the papers published in different volumes of Middle Flight  have been research papers of excellent academic standard.
